Behind The Scenes (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2)

After watching all of the Harry Potter movies in the past, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious about how they were made. Watching this video was pretty cool because I saw a lot of things that would have been hard to imagine. For example, it was actually very funny watching them use their wands with a green screen in the background, or watching them fall onto mats after getting “hit” by something. One specific scene that I found very interesting was the last scene when Voldemort and Harry Potter were fighting. During the scene, when Harry is running away, there are “sparks” or something very similar that are supposed to look like bombs, and every time they shoot the scene the have to reset the bombs. Also, he has to be very precise in where he runs every time to make sure they have the right angles.

I did a little bit of research, and found that they had filmed this entire series in multiple different places, and even countries. This is definitely a “problem” that they had to overcome. Because this series is so unique, they had to find specific places to match the descriptions well enough. Regarding the preproduction, as said before, the series is so unique so they had to find a lot of places to film and different types of props and such. This movie itself was definitely not low-budget. I didn’t necessarily watch anything go wrong in the clips they showed, but I am sure there was a lot of different times where something did go wrong. Overall, this was an interesting movie/series to look at from this perspective.
