This movie is listed at #20 on IMDb's all time top 100 list, which in my opinion seems about right. I personally really enjoyed watching it, and it was actually what I would consider the perfect start to a trilogy. I honestly believe that it’s one of the best trilogies of all time. Star Wars is a masterpiece of mind-boggling cinematography. Throughout the movie, there are a lot of sequences that caused me to really lock-in and observe closely. My personal favorite part is when Obi Wan decides to sacrifice himself for the sake of the force. This made me sit back and literally think to myself “wow this guy is a genius” and that one scene basically explains the entire movie; sacrifice and power.

The beginning of the movie has a great opening sequence and uses the background music very effectively to set the scene, in fact it might be one of the most iconic of all time. It also shows the setting very effectively by also being very straightforward. In regards to the audio, I truly believe that the movie wouldn’t really be quite what it is without the background noises and transitional music. I also think I wouldn’t even be able to tell you how many different scenes had music in the background, but I would credit that to how good of a movie it is. It got me so focused that sometimes it was hard to take everything in. However, I appreciate some points where there was silence because it made me feel awkward with what could possibly happen next.

This movie also does a great job with building specific relationships within each character. The love, hate and everything in between is so vital to the film and the plot. Luke, Han and Leia all have really awkward encounters and you can all tell that they have beef. It works well because it keeps them all in line and helps them work together. I like Han the most, just because of how honest and savage he is. He is someone you either like or dislike, but he works just fine for me.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed watching this movie and didn’t have any true complaints. I started out watching the series the other day and have been binge watching it since. Watching the prequels has been very beneficial in terms of appreciating it even more. Like I said, this movie series is literally made for me and I will probably end up watching it again at some point. The cinematic features of this movie were on point, the storyline was nearly perfect and everyone played their roles really well. I don’t know if I would recommend this to someone under the age of 14 because of how straight-forward and gruel it is, but if you do eclipse that age, then it is always worth the watch.
